Configure emergency calls on Samsung Galaxy Watch4
It is only possible to configure emergency calls for devices with a SIM or eSIM card since they make use of the call service through the GSM network or, failing that, it must be connected to a Wi-Fi network or via Bluetooth to another device that has a GSM connection or to the Internet.
1- First step:
To start setting up SOS emergency calls on a Samsung Galaxy Watch4, we open the app that controls the smartwatch called “Galaxy Wearable”. If you do not have it installed, you will have to download it from the Play Store or Galaxy Store.
2- Second step:
Once inside the “Galaxy Wearable” application we will see our Samsung Galaxy Watch4, smart watch, if you do not have it configured first you must link the watch with your smartphone. Click on “Clock settings” to start configuring SOS calls and fall detection.
3- Third step:
Once inside the smart watch settings, we go down through the settings until we find the section called “Advanced functions” and press to access.
4- Fourth step:
Within the advanced settings or “Advanced functions” of the Samsung Galaxy Watch4, we will see a section called “SOS”. Click to access.
5- Fifth step:
An On/Off button will appear in the SOS call and message settings. If it is deactivated, press to activate it. Messages will appear to accept the privacy policy and permissions that the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 needs to access in order to make emergency calls.
6- Sixth step:
A window will appear asking us to add an emergency contact, we can select it from the contact list of our phone or create a new contact. If this window does not appear, click on “Send messages to”.
7- Seventh step:
Next we configure the emergency call, for this we click on “Make SOS call to”.
8- Eighth step:
We can also activate the fall detector, when the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 detects a fall, whether walking, running or cycling, if the user does not cancel, it will send an emergency message to the contacts that have been defined. Activate the “Detect falls” section.
9- Ninth step:
With these steps we have configured emergency calls and messages and fall detection on the Samsung Galaxy Watch4, to test its operation we press the power button three times.
Make SOS call
1- First step:
To make an emergency call from the Samsung Galaxy Watch4, press the power button or home button three times in a row.
2- Second step:
A five-second countdown will appear to give the option to cancel sending the SOS emergency call and message. If you do not cancel it, it will be sent to all the defined contacts.
