Samsung Galaxy S7
Recording the screen of your mobile/cell phone Samsung Galaxy S7 in a video with sound can be very useful to perform a tutorial or show an acquaintance how to perform certain tasks in a Samsung Galaxy S7, save in a video file and then send it or upload it to a platform like YouTube or social networks.
Sometimes we would like to record on video with sound a story that we have seen on Instagram of an acquaintance, a phone call or video call with a family member to keep it as a souvenir or to use it as evidence or a TikTok video.
Until now there is no native method built into Android (the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes from the factory with the operating system Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)| upgradable to 7.0 (Nougat)) to videotape the screen so you have to use the Game Launcher application from Samsung or third-party applications.
To make this recording in your Samsung Galaxy S7 follow these steps:
If, on the contrary, what you want is to take a screenshot of your Samsung Galaxy S7 in a still image instead of video, click on the following link and follow the indicated steps Capture screen on Samsung Galaxy S7
Estimated time: 5 minutes.
1- First step:
First of all, we are going to check that we have the screen recording icon in the quick access panel of our Samsung Galaxy S7. (If we already have it, we can go to point 5).
To check it, we unlock our Galaxy S7 and slide a finger from the top edge of the screen down a few centimeters to display the quick panel in which the quick settings will appear such as connecting to a Wi-Fi network, connecting Bluetooth, mute, airplane mode, etc. Slide down again with one finger to display the full panel, check if it has the screen recording icon shown below:
2- Second step:
If we do not see the screen recording icon on the quick panel of our Samsung Galaxy S7 click on the edit icon of the quick panel that is normally three points vertically.
3- Third step:
A floating menu will be displayed, click on “Button order” to edit the buttons that appear on the quick panel of your Samsung Galaxy S7.
4- Fourth step:
The icons of the settings that we have already defined in the Samsung Galaxy S7 quick panel will appear below and the settings icons that we can add to the panel separated by a blank space, we look for the screen recording icon, click on the icon and without drop it, drag it to the bottom to add it to the quick panel. If you do not see the screen recording icon on your Galaxy S7 device, it may be disabled by the manufacturer or not available on Samsung Galaxy S7, in which case we go to the point “If we do not have the option to record screen natively”.
5- Fifth step:
We already have the screen recording icon on the Samsung Galaxy S7 quick panel, now to start recording we have two options: simultaneously press the volume up and power buttons of the Galaxy S7 or a simpler and less likely to fail which is to unfold the panel fast by sliding a finger from the top of the screen and pressing the screen recording icon that we have seen in the previous steps.
6- Sixth step:
If this is the first time we have recorded the Samsung Galaxy S7 screen, a message will appear requesting permission for the screen recording application to take photos and record videos. You can choose if you want it to only have permission this time or every time the app is used, if you deny permission you will not be able to record the screen.
7- Seventh step:
The second permission it will ask for is to allow the "Samsung Capture" app to access the microphone and record audio. You must allow the permission even if you do not want to record the sound of the microphone, in a later step we can indicate that the sound is not recorded.
8- Eighth step:
Next, it will ask us for permission to access the photos, multimedia content and files of the Samsung Galaxy S7, this does not mean that the application is going to use the photos or videos but that it needs this permission to be able to save the video in the device's storage.
9- Ninth step:
In this step you can choose if you want the video to be saved without sound, with system sounds or with system sounds and recording the microphone sound. Select the option that interests you and click on "Start recording".
10- Tenth step
A 3-second countdown will be displayed on the Samsung Galaxy S7 screen from which the video of everything that happens on the screen will begin to record.
11- Eighth step:
To stop the recording you can press the square stop button that appears at the top right of the screen or slide your finger from the top of the screen to open the notification and quick settings bar and press the red button to stop recording of screen.
12- Ninth step:
The video will be automatically saved in the photo gallery of your Samsung Galaxy S7. You can find the image gallery on the home screen, it should have a photo icon, an instant photo or depending on the version of the software installed, it is possible that your image gallery application is Google Photos, in this case look for the icon of a four-pointed star made of paper with four colors, one for each point.
In the event that the screen recording icon is not available and that simultaneously pressing the volume up and power buttons on the Samsung Galaxy S7 does not start the video recording, we will have to download an application from the application store to perform this action.
Your Samsung Galaxy S7 do not have Google Play or Galaxy Store?
Check the following article to learn how to install applications without Google Play from alternative stores and how to install Google Play if your Galaxy S7 does not have it incorporated Google Play alternatives.
To do this we go to our application store either Play Store, Galaxy Store or any other that we use on our Samsung Galaxy S7 and search for “screen recorder”, we must bear in mind that any free application that we download will contain advertising, and we must not download any application that ask us for excessive permissions such as access to Bluetooth, contacts or the camera. The permissions that will be required for any screen recording application are “Access to multimedia content and files”, the permission to “Record video and audio” and the “Show above” permission is optional if you want to have a floating window with the controls of record, microphone, stop, etc.
Once installed we can return to the first step of this tutorial.
In your Galaxy S7 you can store the screen recordings in video thanks to its internal 32/64 GB memory.
You will be able to see the video of the screen recording in the photo gallery of your Samsung Galaxy S7.
