How to update the Pad 7 system
Every so often, Xiaomi releases a software update; some of these updates are exclusively security updates, and sometimes updates are released that include new features, improvements, bug fixes, or changes in the operating system version and the MIUI customization layer.

1- First step:
Open the settings of Xiaomi Pad 7, it is the gear icon that should appear on the device's home screen. If you don't find it there, move to the other home screens by swiping from right to left, you will see all the applications and among them the "Settings" icon.
2- Second step:
The first section you will find in the Pad 7 settings is "About phone". Tap to access the device settings.
3- Third step:
On the left, a square will appear with the version of the operating system currently installed on your Xiaomi Pad 7. If there is any update available to download or install, the "Update" button will appear next to a red dot; otherwise, you must manually search for the update.
Press on this square to continue.
4- Fourth step:
Click on the three vertical dots that appear in the upper right corner of the screen to access the update settings.
5- Fifth step:
Click on "Update Settings".
6- Sixth step:
If you want software updates to be automatically downloaded to your Xiaomi Pad 7, turn on the "Download Automatically" switch.
Software updates will be automatically downloaded when you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you can later choose when to install and restart the device.
7- Seventh step:
If you also want system updates to be installed automatically after being downloaded, turn on the switch "Install automatically".
Software updates will be installed automatically at night or when you have your downtime set up.
8- Eighth step:
Go back to check if there are any updates available to download or install. Click on the "Check for updates" button, if no update is available for your Xiaomi Pad 7 the message "No updates available" will appear.
If an update is available, you will see the "Download" button, click to start the download.
The download will take several minutes or even hours, it will depend on the size of the update, the connection speed, and the availability of the server from where it is downloaded.
9- Ninth step:
You can exit and continue using your Xiaomi Pad 7 while the download completes; once it's completed, you will receive a notification. If you do not receive it, return and check the process. Once the download is completed, the "Update" button will appear along with a description of the operating system version that will be installed.
10- Tenth step
Again, you can go out and continue using your Xiaomi Pad 7 while the installation is completed. You will again receive a notification informing you that the installation has been completed and that a restart is necessary.
You can restart manually, restart from the notification, or go back and press the "Restart Now" button.
Repeat the process every few months to keep your Xiaomi Pad 7 updated.
